Recording of Meetings

Under the Openness of Local Government Bodies Regulations 2014, members of the public may now film, photograph and make audio recordings of the proceedings of the formal Council meeting, though not, under current legislation, of the Public Participation session, as this is not part of the formal agenda of the meeting. Recording activity should be respectful to the conduct of the meeting and behaviour that disrupts the meeting (such as oral commentary) will not be permitted.

It is hoped that a representative from West Mercia Police may be able to attend to discuss speeding and options for Speedwatch in the parish.

Members are asked to receive apologies of absence for this meeting.

  1. Declarations of Interest.

To receive declarations of interest under consideration on this agenda in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 s32 and The Relevant Authorities (Disclosable Pecuniary Interests) Regulations 2012.

Members are reminded that should you declare a pecuniary interest at a meeting, it is your responsibility to inform the Monitoring Officer.

  1. Public Question Time and Participation

Members of the public are advised that they are welcome to ask questions about items on the Agenda. It is not always possible to give a verbal response at the meeting and questions may receive a written reply. No resolution can be made under this item.

Questions should relate to matters of Parish Council policy or practice and not relate to the individual affairs of either the questioner or any other named person.

  1. Vacancy for a Councillor

Sutton Maddock Parish Council has been informed that after due process no resident has called for an election to fill the vacancy for a Parish Councillor and therefore Members are invites to consider co-option to fill this seat.

Members are therefore asked to consider the way forward.

The Chairman will give any announcements in relation to parish matters or the     agenda.

To approve the draft minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on Thursday 18th July 2019

The Clerk will report back on the following matters:

  • Concern about Renew where Graham Manton, Apley Estates had been

involved a couple of enforcement actions in relation to Grindlehouse Farm

who were still not keeping to their planning consent and conditions.

  • Haven Hills Ménage lights
  • Signage outside Apley Farm on the road verge and Sutton Maddock Roundabout
  • Brockton Crossroads
  • Smartwater – update at the meeting
  • Glamping pods in Sutton Wood which Max had raised with Shropshire Council
  • Private Road notice – the Chairman has raised this with Shropshire Council

Members are asked to agree the following payments:

Members are asked to note that paperwork has been received back from the External Auditors with no queries on them.

  1. SALC 70th Birthday celebrations

  1. The Clerk contacted Hugo Fox, the parish website provider to see what measures they were putting in place following the announcement of new requirements in terms of accessibility to websites regulations. They confirmed that they would be putting measures in place across their websites to ensure these regulations are met.
  • Condition of the A442 from Worfe Bridge to Bridgnorth

The Clerk will read a report from Cllr. Max Speke on this matter.

  1. Attendance at the Bridgnorth Area Committee meeting on the 16th September 2019 – the Chairman is unable to attend this meeting and hopes that another Member will be able to attend in her place
  2. The Clerk will give any updates under this item.
